Thank you for that information. In my training days, circa 1965-70 I recall that Albert Ellis was not popular because his therapy was abrasive and attacking compared with the hallowed unconditional regard approach of Rogers. The years have rolled by, and many have come to accept that therapies based on sound cognitive principles are more effective, more quickly, and more cheaply. I am saddened to hear about the conflicts with the trustees of the foundation Dr Ellis established.

Radical theory and changes to the known and respected will always bare criticism from the those who lack understanding. Dr Ellis did a great justice to the world by taking his theory to the people. To often people have to pay for an education in order to contribute effectively to society once understanding theory. Dr Ellis instead wanted as many people as possible to know about his discoverys and theory. For me he is an individual who I would model my academic work and delivery of findings upon. To teach students is one thing, but to equip society with the means to help itself is ingenious. Its a pitty the very foundations that he has laid have been tainted by the disrespect of those who felt necessary to exclude Dr Ellis from the very things he embraced.

This is just awful news. I had the honour of Dr. Ellis telling me that my husband was f---ing crazy. I will never forget him.
