Is the UN a case where quantity forgives a quality?

“Thats why black and white cant see each other as brothers because they recognise instantly where the closer cellular links are… he will never recognise others as his family or treat them as such if a choice ever has to be made between the survival of the two.
To think other wise is just wishing it could be so but it isnt. “

Just because what you say is true and legitimate does not mean that it is the only truth.
Sure, those things are in us but they are not the only things in us. We also have altruism and cooperative methodologies and ideologies. And even though every attempt before it has failed, how can we justify giving up on building a better world?
We would never have developed aircraft if people gave up trying to make machines that can fly because ‘every previous attempt’ had failed.

There is a need also to see that we are not separate little groups anymore with separate fates.
Technology has brought us to the point of possibly destroying the habitability of our entire planet – this effects everyone. We, as a planetary population, are headed toward a common fate whatever that fate may be.

It may help us to realize that we are all in the same boat – if there is one thing that space exploration has truly shown us is that whether or not there is other life out there in the universe there is nothing close enough to be of any use to us. Consider the difficulty modern tech has had getting back to the Moon. Alpha Centauri is 510 million times further away than that and it doesn’t have any planets. The next nearest star in more than twice as far away again. Realize it, feel it, we are all in this together either we learn to cooperate and get out of this or our own conflict with damn us.
