For those who are ready to write off incoming teachers as bubble-headed ne'er-do-wells or ideologically-driven social activists - think again.

bushbred. I don't believe these young people when they say that they don't know which way this is headed, they are not stupid, they have a brain. The are often just being lazy and/or stupid.

That they choose to not acknowledge the situation because they dont have the energy, money or desire, or they don't want to change is a different matter.

I think that a big problem is Apathy, there is too much apathy and not enough respect and I believe our children are being groomed this way. People are encouraged to protect those that they see doing wrong. People are encouraged to be lazy and laid back. Society says it's not cool to dob in your mate, peer or fellow worker. Society says it's not cool to read too many books.

I don't think it really matters whether teachers are old, young or new. What matters is that these teachers continue to be educated and supported in their role of providing learning so that they can be in a better position to be up to date and show our children what they know.
