Of course Robbie Williams is representative of all men. Robbie Williams is male, and men are male, so Robbie Williams must represent all men.
And Madonna, is representative of all women. Madonna is female and women are female, so Madonna must represent all women. "Men were predominantly reported or portrayed in mass media as villains, aggressors, perverts and philanderers, with more than 75 per cent of all mass media representations of men and male identity showing men in on one of these four ways," Further, in somewhat of a back-handed compliment, when positive portrayals of men as sensitive, emotional or caring were presented, these were described as men's and boys' 'feminine side.' http://www.cnet.ngo.net.au/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=20729 Posted by HRS, Thursday, 7 December 2006 9:49:13 AM

[But Williams is among the few stars with a mass audience willing to admit, "I'm searching for something beyond my understanding".]
SOLOMON said: Ecclesiasties 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. GOOD NEWS... while Solomon declared the dilemna, (Later in the book he also offers solutions) and Robbie Williams in 2006 echoe's Solomons wistful cry, there IS (halelujah) an answer and it is not vaque or like a morning mist or a desert mirage. "I am the LIGHT of the world" "I am the BREAD of life" "I am the GOOD SHEPHERD" "I am the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE" "I am the TRUE VINE" "I am the DOOR " For one saying all this, we may wish to scrutinize his life, to see any evidence of self-serving.. or wealth-seeking, or womanizing... all of which have characterized the false prophets of this world both before and after Christ. (Including many so called Televangelists) Do we find any ? NONE ! "I came not to be served, but to serve and give my life as a ransom for many"....Mk 10:45 That...is what we find. Robbie...let me introduce you to a very good friend. His name is Jesus. He is the Messiah, Saviour and King. Once I observed some feral pups trying to escape from our office (in the tropics, it had an open section at the bottom of the walls with chicken mesh covering the gap) and they became fixated with the outside and freedom which they could not get to because of the chicken mesh.. back and forth they ran.. yelping in terror.. this way, that way.. unable to escape.... When all they had to do was go further, and find the already open "door" which leads to a 'Way' and in Truth it leads to a Shepherd who truly offers that Love, which we all seek. Robbie Williams is misunderstood in Australia for his peculiar body language. Londoners get it, here, it just doesn't seem to get through. He is not the only one.
More to the point are Australian musicians and talent that couldn't stand it any longer in this country. People don't want to think here, they want bubble gum. You missed people like Nick Cave. Europe seems to appreciate his stuff more than Australia, and it drove him to drugs and near insanity as he was a reluctant expat. For example: Let The Bells Ring Take this deafening thunder down Take this bread and take this wine Your passing is not what we mourn But the world you left behind Well, do not breathe, nor make a sound And behold your mighty work That towers over the uncaring ground Of a lesser, darker world Australia aside: even Madonna questioned gender expectation in US or western life. American Life I tried to be a boy Tried to be a girl Tried to be a mess Tried to be the best Tried to find a friend Tried to stay ahead I tried to stay on top F*#k it Do I have to change my name? Will it get me far? Should I lose some weight? Am I gonna be a star? Ahh, f*#k it Robbie Williams is not alone in being misunderstood in this culture that refuses to listen to the words. I very strongly suspect that in the very near future I'll be burying my youngest brother.
"I'm contemplating thinking about thinking It's overrated, just get another drink and watch me come undone." Yes he has become undone and his life is spiralling out of control. He wishes to die. My brother told me that if a doctor told him he had an inoperable brain tumor, he would buy the doctor a bottle of Don Perrion to say thank you. Posted by JamesH, Friday, 8 December 2006 8:58:39 AM
