Scandalous. Mick should be doing what aboriginals are supposed to do - hunt lunch with his boomerang, take a child bride, bankrupt himself providing for a mob of relations, etc etc.

You should be ashamed, Mick. Who knows, you may encourage other aboriginal people to do the same, and that would never do. You would disappoint the feral Left, who appear to believe that all aboriginals should be banished to anthropological zoos in the middle of nowhere.

The trouble with these people is they just don't know their place. What with the left now seriously eschewing poverty there will be no-one left for them to indulge in the vicarious nobility of it all.

Private ownership is a must, unfortunately.

To exist more than marginally in this white mans world, the concept of individuality of home ownership for wealth purposes must be embraced.

The problem will be the lack of guidance of these homeowners and the lack of trying to educate them in the laws and fundamentals of property, and the logistics of home ownership. In a few years these dwellings/private lots may be sold (perhaps under duress) and fall back into white hands, leaving the situation worse.

If we mandate not to sell the properties without consent of the Mob yet still allow for all intents and purposes the ability to finance, leverage etc as individuals, the best of both worlds can occur by protecting the rights of the Mob and ensuring longevity, yet providing a clear pathway to long term wealth (real and usable) for the people as individuals.

Kooris/Murris may in the next 100 years be a very powerful group of people if this is done correctly.

I don’t know really, if it is in N S W, then the Value General is on his way to value the property, at Lets say 5 million dollars, and a three percent as land Tax, I think it is the Labor party intention to make sure nobody is able to afford to buy a house and be certain, No Little Home Owning capitalists exist any more.
Or it is a new Reality TV program. I hope he does not end up like Oozy Osborne.

as tongue in cheek as this article is there is a serious issues out of it. that is the purchase of affordable housing for aboriginal and islander people to access and provide a home for family. been happening since the 70's and so has the associated corruption. and im not saying that dodson is corrupt or what he did is corrupt, but there are others out there who are.

for example, an ex regional manager of a major funding body that was made defunct by howard and who now sits in a good state govt position. same is renting a house from an aboriginal housing group and already owns their peice of dirt somewhere else in the state, and sits on over 180,000 p.a. combined income.

that's an example of housing allocations gone wrong, especially when you consider that there are other family's out there living in a caravan park or worse.
