Cheers. I work as a lawyer for Ken Livingstone (The Mayor of Greater London) on the Events program and the Olympics (being the main "client" bodies at City Hall). I also do funding agreements and commercial contracts for supported groups and projects. There are also some matters that deal with Transport for London and the Metrpolitan Police who are under the auspice of teh Mayor (but not many given to me).

Events are normally staged at Trafalgar Square. So I suppose it is a similar role to be in-house legal counsel to the Sydney Opera House, or the MCG - perhaps a combination of the two. Only with a very big political element. As an example - we have about 150 events per year and 10 big events - such as Russian Winter Festival or Chinese New Year where there are up to 200,000 people attending over the course of the day.
