The mens rights movement is a fast growing, sophisiticated, organized and well resourced movement with ties to conservative politicians and fundamentalist churches. Some choose innocuous sounding names, such as Shared Parenting Australia. They lobby politicians frequently and zealously. Unsurprisingly, these groups lean in the direction against progressive agendas.

They hate the Family Court's most eminent learned [now retired] jurist Justice Alistair Nicholson. A search of these groups websites reveals just the lunatic agenda they're on about. It seems all a backlash against what they perceive as political correctness and the new and proper emphasis given to the issues of women and children in the community. Now the clock is being turned back, and the balance of power is shifting to psychologically and/or physically abusive men who are using the legal system to exert control over their estranged partner's activites, travel and residence location choices using contact as a pretext.
