the important point about eureka is that the miners lost. there is no "we, the people.." document in australian history. until ozzies break out of the mass psychosis of pretending they are citizens of a democracy, they can not make substantial progress toward actual democracy.

i have come to believe this is unlikely, because comfortable people don't change their minds.
