I congratulate Bill Muhlenberg on his scholarly article. His critics, particularly DavidJS must be reminded that the homosexual lifestyle they defend is responsible for 85% of AIDS cases [quoted by the Gay Lobby in the Industrial Relations Commission 1994, and also by the Commonwealth Health Dept.] It's an unnatural and unhealthy way of life and should never be encouraged in any way. I was also very impressed by the comments of Yng Nluvnit, Just another Aussie, and Cat. Marriage is committment and that is the glue which holds society together. Without committment we would have social anarchy. Maybe that's what some of Bill's critics would like!

I don't care. I like homosexual people - I also don't care that at the moment they represent the largest group carrying AIDs; You must recall that bitch Queen Isabella, a hero of catholicism after reclaiming Spain from the Moors turned on the resident Muslims and was unable to accommodate them in the same spirit of community that the Moors accommodated other religions. She then sent Christopher Columbus across the seas who brought back syphyllis , and in a true spirit of ecumenism, spread it across Europe, catching a few Popes by surpise as well.

I dont care what Gay people do with or to each other; What I do know is that when we had our children and sought out people who practised their religion among our group of friends, the only people who did it in a meaningful way were our gay friends; they had also been in the most stable relationships - hence most of my childrens' god parents are gay.

I think god is pretty cool: I think he bases his or her judgement on things for greater than what people do sexually. Churches have far to long worried about sex and it is time they moved on.

The Churches in the main are flawed, just like their followers, just like the Apostles, and I have no reason to doubt the gospels have a few problems of logic and consistency in them as well; and, if they were written, rewritten, translated and retranslated over time they are flawed like the rest of us in the Judeao-Christian diaspora.

We can only hope we have an understanding of god and an understanding of how he might like us to conduct ourselves. If we are prepared to seek the truth I reckon he will look pretty favorably on most of us. If on the other hand we spend a great deal of time telling him and others we know the truth he or she might get a bit pissed.

Put me in the company of doubters and the wishy washy all the time because in their compnay we stand a chance of really searching for the truth.
