What’s the difference, climate change fanatic or sports fanatic; the psychology is tge sane if the target isn’t.

Australians love sport, and with the climate and facilities we have there is ample opportunity to participate, or be a spectator all year round. From a multicultural perspective, soccer above all other sports has brought Australians of diverse ethic backgrounds together in friendship through participation.

When my sons played soccer as kids, I was privileged to meet and mix with so many parents of different ethnic backgrounds, British, Greek, Middle Eastern, Turkish, Italian and Australian etc etc. Maybe the Lovely Pauline will ban such gatherings as it doesn't fit her ethos of a Monocultural society, where we all speak Strine, bonza, strike me lucky, stone the crows, and play two-up while we munch on our meat pie and down a carton or two of our favourite beer, VB! Wonderful!

I have an idea for the new Australian flag which will hopefully transpire after her election.

One with a border of stars and stripes with two diagonal rows of small swastickers from the corners; a sideways profile of Uncle Donald with his mouth in a yawning pose, and flames streaming out.

A flag we can all welcome with “ chunderous” applause, interspersed with the odd “technicolor” yawn on the lawn, and the wafting smell of burning prawns on the “Barby”.
