The South Pacific risks becoming a battleground when it wants to remain a Zone of Peace.

I didn't bother to read any further than the idiotic statement that:

"The biggest single security challenge to the South Pacific region today is climate change.."

Climate change in the region is just an opportunity for small countries - mere tiny islands many of them - to shakedown (extort) Australia.

Most of these places have been difficult to live on always: well before the climate nonsense was used as a weapon against Australia. Low-lying, naturally prone to flooding and battering.

Australia didn't cause climate change. And Australia has spent a lot of taxpayer money making islands with a handful of people on them safer places to live.

Enough of the nonsense that Australia, with it's 1% emissions, has anything to do with climate change or needs to make amends to UN backed grifters.

There is none so blind as those who will not see, we have the regular first to jump in poster here. A very good article by Simon Hutagalung, with a short, but concise critique of the situation facing small South Pacific island nations. Its not all about climate change, although as Simon point out; "climate change has to be recognised for what it is – a security issue of a very particular kind." there are many other issues confronting the region, including the growing influence of China and the risk of militarisation which that brings. The issues associated with development and sovereignty of the under developed small nations, and how that is to be protected.
