Iran, war, and the illusion of control : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 13/2/2026

A US attack on Iran promises regime change. History suggests something else: regional escalation, oil shocks, and a rally-around-the-flag effect that entrenches the very regime Washington seeks to weaken.

There is nothing so important to remember than to ask the million dollar question; who put Iran in its current position of nuclear threat to the ME?… Obama and the JCPOA.(the Leftist Democrats).

Against all logic and necessity, and opposed to any form of intellectual normality, Obama set out to deliberately transform Iran, under the guardianship of Iranian Ayatollahs, into a regional disruptive rising power nightmare, and existential nuclear threat, not only to Israel, but to the entire ME.

The lesson for us in insignificant Australia, is can we stop the same Leftists responsible for the Iranian fiasco, in the organised form of the Labor party, from transforming our own Country from a Democracy and into an Islamic driven caliphate: That developing outcome is becoming more likely daily.
