How many hospitals will an extra 1 million people need? : Comments

By Ross Elliott, published 22/10/2025

Everyone talks about housing for Australia’s growing population, but who’s counting the hospitals, schools and water needed for another million people? The numbers don’t add up.

The idea that Australia can look after or accommodate the growth in population thanks to irresponsible and unnecessary mass immigration (unemployment is on the rise) is fanciful.

The cost of building public hospitals, or anything else the government gets involved in is monstrous and will always overshoot the budget.

Housing starts are down 4.4% to June 2025.

Costs and government taxes are too high to build apartments.

The only solution is to pause immigration and deport all non-citizens.
