By Binoy Kampmark, published 21/10/2025Trump’s ‘war on cartels’ looks less like drug enforcement and more like old-fashioned imperial policing - with airstrikes, bounties, and CIA operations leading the charge.

Could Uncle Donald exercise a regime change in Australia; I’d support that!

It's nothing to do with drugs.
It's about America's business and political interests. They can't allow Venezuela to become a part of BRICS Last ditch effort of the West to see an outcome they want. Posted by Armchair Critic, Tuesday, 21 October 2025 2:10:59 PM

Americas drug problem is fentanyl Indy.
And that problem comes from Mexico not Venezuela. It's Americas job to manage its own customs and border control. If they're blowing up boats within other countries firstly it's an attack on another country and secondly they mustn't have much faith in their own customs and border patrol. Why not just track the boat and arrest them if they enter U.S. waters? - Because that doesn't help promote a made up story of Maduro being the head of a made up drug cartel that they want to sell to the masses to justify their regime change effort. There's photos of 'Regime Change Machado' shaking hands with President George Bush, that's how much bs they're trying to sell you. And even THAT article was written 6 years ago, see for yourself. Armchair critic, Totally wrong ! The problem are American druggos ! Same as everywhere & as far as I know Australia tops the list of drug abuse. So, if people are too stupid not to use drugs then that's not a problem for the authorities, it's a problem for society having to co-exist with these useless morons ! Throw in some tattoos & studs & the cycle of stupidity is complete. Oh, and, confuse them even more without gender idiocy & you end up with what we have to deal with now. Yes I accept your points.
Another truth is that the United States is the worlds biggest consumer market for drugs and drug profits. Why doesn't the U.S. go to war against Mexico if drugs are the real problem? Answer - It's simply not what this is all about. When they had it in for Hugo Chavez was it about drugs then? No, It's just a fabricated story to provide some semblance of valid reasons why they are doing it. I think they've ran out of time, and don't want Venezuela joining BRICS 22 Oct, 18:48 Federation Council OKs ratification of Russia-Venezuela strategic partnership agreement http://tass.com/politics/2033325 "MOSCOW, October 22. /TASS/. The Federation Council, at its plenary session, approved the ratification of the strategic partnership agreement between Russia and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The document was introduced by President Vladimir Putin in October. The agreement between the Russian Federation and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on strategic partnership and cooperation, signed in Moscow on May 7, 2025 shall be ratified," the resolution reads. The agreement expands interaction and cooperation between the two countries in political and economic spheres, including energy, mining, transportation, communications, as well as in security and in countering terrorism and extremism. According to the explanatory note, under the agreement, the countries will also maintain regular and close political and diplomatic dialogue, create new "coordination mechanisms across the entire spectrum of the bilateral agenda, addressing pressing international and regional issues of mutual interest" and expand existing ones. As State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin previously noted, the document "takes Russian-Venezuelan relations to a fundamentally new level, encompassing all key areas of bilateral cooperation." Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov explained that the document consists of a preamble and 25 articles and "reflects the qualitative change that has occurred in bilateral relations in recent decades." According to him, the text reflects the desire to establish not just a multipolar international system, but a coordinate system in relations between Russia and Venezuela that fully reflects the two countries' priority approaches."
