I recently read a quotation from novelist Agatha Christie, reflecting on the two world wars: "One is left with the horrible feeling now that war settles nothing; that to win a war is as disastrous as to lose one". This would surely apply especially to any nuclear exchange. There would be no winners. Perhaps we should re-double our efforts to ban nuclear weapons.
