The thought of a hard Left government like ours nationalising anything makes me shudder. They are interfering in too many things they don't understand already. Governments have a limited mandate they struggle to deal with; business is not one of them.

Years ago I flew in a Rex turboprop to a regional airport. Those planes must be pretty old by now. I was looking forward to taking a Rex jet to a city airport without the ridiculous Welcome to Country on landing. If WTC is part of a government buyout deal forget it.

Regional airfares if not paid for by FIFO employers are exorbitant even when both Rex and Qantaslink fly the routes. Without Rex they'll get worse.

Flying is for wealthy people, the poor travel on the XPT.

How could a small Airservices like REX accumulate a half billion dollar debt: there’s a question to be answered. REX has a two percent share of the domestic market.

We could easily learn to live without it!

The Aviation white paper recently released reads like UN Climate Change mandate. Totally misses the point!

With totally viable alternatives to hyper expensive REX airlines services, road and rail only require the investment of extra time to complete the journey…that’s very cheap as an alternative to Nationalising REX air service gold plated alternative!

What is it with Airlines in Australia that makes them go bust ? Ansett, TAA, Australian Airlines, Bonza, Bush Pilots Airways etc etc. Surely they don't all have incompetent management ?
The one thing they all have in common is Government bureaucracy ! Coincidence ? Me thinks not !

There's an election coming up and they need to protect votes in the bush and regional cities. Seen in that light, throwing a few hundred million dollars at the issue is, to their mind, money well spent. After all, its not their money.

There are over forty independent regional air service companies competing with REX who appear to be viable alternatives, and complain the Nationalising of REX will bring unfair competition against them.

The REX fleet of planes are older than thirty years. “t” model Fords of the airline industry.

REX went broke trying to compete against established airlines on major city routes; how does that classify them as regional?

Taxpayers are being screwed by vote buying Politicians.

This is a bad, bad deal for the taxpayer.
