Despite it never having been done anywhere before, we were promised clean, green and cheap energy, but reliability was not promised.

It is indeed very commendable and noble to do your little bit to reduce your waste and emissions as much as is possible.
BUT are the other 8 billion humans on this planet doing the same?

We're going to become a "global energy superpower" in the United Nations "net zero transformation stream".

Exactly one zealot is responsible for this looney-tunes stuff now being Treasury policy. Come on down, Dr Ross Garnaut, Professor Emeritus, Fellow of the AAS, Distinguished Fellow of the ESA, etc, etc, blah, blah.
