Looking at Trumpism as the ‘greatest show on earth’ : Comments

By Murray Hunter, published 30/1/2025

Trumpism is just so much more than The Art of the Deal.Trump is much deeper than the dynamics of The Apprentice. Trumpism has much more depth than his personal branded ‘popularism’.

Trump is more useful to the US and to the free world , and more interesting, than are the low-achieving drones who try to write about him - most of the time getting it wrong.

From the article..."In retrospect, four years out of the presidency gave Trump a great advantage for both Trump the man and Trump the politician. Four years gave Trump time to reflect upon the weaknesses of his first administration, to prepare for the second. Definitely Trump 2.0 will be very different than what Trump 1.0 was."

Very true. It gave time to reconsider how the MAGA revolution was thwarted by a combination of deep state (in)activism, RINO obstructors and recalcitrant courts. We are already seeing how the attempts by the deep state to slow walk or obstruct his changes is being dealt with. Firings are rife and will continue until the civil service comes to realise it is the instrument of the presidency, not vis a versa.

The Trump campaign assembled around 1000 lawyers to act as a roving force to interfere with Democrat electoral cheating and they were a raging success with most of the Democrat's cheating tactics becoming null and void. Those same lawyers now stand ready to combat activist judges (Trump can't rely on the DOJ to do that).

Trump currently has enormous support among the majority of USians, much higher support now that in November '23, and that will remain if he can institute his policies over the heads of the US and globalist elites. This is an existential battle between the working class and the global aristocracy.

I'm barracking for the workers and their leader, Trump.

DT is already seen as a paper tiger in the ME. A big disappointment, particularly in Israel.
The Trump Hamas ceasefire has hamstrung Netanyahu, a feat Biden was unable to achieve since Oct 7th, and is simply a cut and paste of Bidens previous reject anyway.

As was Biden, Trump will be ruled by the smell of money, and the security of his business enterprise.

I think he has already, at this early stage surrendered to business potential over the genuine interests of the so called US working classes..

But, let’s hope not.

"DT is already seen as a paper tiger in the ME."

Any evidence? Thought not.

So mhaze...you are concerned about "activist judges" eh? These are mostly judges appointed by Trump in his last role as "Chief Liar".

You obviously want jurists who ignore the Constitution (which Americans continually bleat about being so important) and also override existing laws just to satisfy the convicted felon!

I think he has seen the drawn out convoluted negotiations with
terrorists and does not want to be sucked into that scene.
His previous real estate business may have taught him to state what you
want and what you will do if you do not get what you want.
Then stick very closely to that.
What he has been doing recently is a practical demonstration to the terrorists.

Peter, you'll find the US legal system is a mess. Judges are very frequently appointed for their political views...that's when there is not actually an election for who will be the judge. So the system is quite unlike ours and full of activists.

Trump got to appoint some federal court judges, including on the Supreme Court, but he could only do that as positions become vacant, so there is no way he has appointed any but a small number of federal judges.

At a state level judges are appointed by state governments (when they're not elected by voters), and many of these cases mhaze refers to will start there, either because the plaintiffs are trying to use a state law to frustrate the president, or because they get to exercise a federal jurisdiction at first instant.

From the decisions that we've seen so far from the Supreme Court, the new appointments by Trump are more likely than the previous ones to abide by the Constitution because they are "originalists", meaning they don't believe they should be reinterpreting the constitution in line with their prejudices. That's why Roe v Wade was reversed - it was an invention of former judges and had no basis in the constitution.
