ANU Migration Hub – immigration gaslighter of the year : Comments

By Stephen Saunders, published 17/12/2024

The Migration Hub has excelled in 2024, with misleading takes on immigration policy and numbers. Their Xmas brief 'proves' the Albanese immigration deluge isn't happening. You probably imagined it.

The success of the Ten Pound Poms is now part of Australian folklore. Recent immigration dwarfs those numbers but doesn't seem to have the feelgood stories. Universities are supposed to be citadels of wisdom. Now apart perhaps from Monash they are uncritically excusing high immigration. Knuckle down to an aromatherapy diploma and soon you'll be a permanent resident. I also suspect the Feds are paying under the counter; for example Pacific workers were laid off when a virus affected tomatoes in SA so they were flown to the NT to pick mangoes. Who paid the airfares?

I see the RBA board has just been stacked with a Big Australia enthusiast. Albo must eventually find that some of his beliefs won't work. Renewable energy superpower is one and net benefits for high immigration is another.

The ANU Migration Hub is funded by taxpayers ((who don't need it and didn't ask for it); NGOs (bludgers themselves); employers (looking for cheap, malleable labour), and “other donors” (read political activists). Just one more mob running interference, unknown to most Australians. Has anyone heard of this secret society?

Note: the person running the show is an immigrant.

The far-from-impressive Dutton Coalition should go to the next election with a population/immigration policy so that we can vote on it as the people suffering from mass immigration.

Australia, the mythical land of the Antipodes, home to the Santa Claus clones, fairies elves and other strange midgets…Up the Craigie mountains, down the rushing glen, we dare not go a hunting for fear of little men…!

I suppose the ANU also claims that they don't profit significantly from immigration.

Or just hope that the public don't notice.

It seems to me that this is a really obvious "shake down" con job by the ANU and other universities. Universities aren't objective, and don't stand outside of society taking notes, they are down in the dirt scrabbling for gold much like many others. But they claim to do it from an ethical position- disgusting.
