Sea life: floating nuclear power plants are compelling stuff : Comments

As efforts to decarbonize global energy systems expand, one of the answers could be to use floating nuclear power plants (FNPPs).

Surely, there'd be several decommissioned nuclear powered ships that could be used as floating power stations. If the Russians can do it for several decades, what possible practical or logistical reason could there possibly be here not to do it on a temporary or experimental basis for a few years until more modern plants can be developed ? They could power civilian settlements or remote defence stations etc. Whichever, the reduced usage of diesel would surely be a great start for letting the environment have a breather & keeping costs down ?
Govt should better listen to practical thinking people who know instead of consulting with the proven failures that are the academic experts !
