Yes, a Chinese attack on Taiwan will result in a war between the US and China. And destroy their trade relationship and China's economy at the worst possibl3e time for them!
Forget the sabre rattling and look what has happened to Russia as a result of the unprovoked attack on Ukraine. One catches more flies with a teaspoon of honey than a whole jar of vinegar! Alan B. Posted by Alan B., Friday, 24 November 2023 8:37:05 AM

People like putin and xi J are habitual liars and not to be even vaguely trusted.
Actions definitely speak louder than words in these two cases. Posted by ateday, Friday, 24 November 2023 11:32:48 AM

Ooops, Sorry,
I didn't mean to interrupt the meeting of the intelligentsia. Must be wonderful to think as you choose and then declare it the truth. Posted by Special Delivery, Friday, 24 November 2023 12:55:58 PM

Xi put the hard word on America for $AU 1 trillion to help with China's failing economy.
China, not Iran, is the main sponsor of anti-Israel, anti-Semitism. The election of a new and very different President of Argentina is a blow to China. Xi is not popular with the CCP or the PLA. The latter doesn't think it could win a war against Taiwan. China's population is falling. Primary production is falling. Xi's Deputy has designs on the top job. There are lots of interesting things to be learned that will never appear in the mainstream media; including Xi's alcoholism. Posted by ttbn, Saturday, 25 November 2023 7:20:11 AM

Hi Alan B.
"Forget the sabre rattling and look what has happened to Russia as a result of the unprovoked attack on Ukraine." http://www.internationalaffairs.org.au/news-item/russia-and-the-ukraine-war/ "On Tuesday 10 October 2023, Professor Emeritus Graeme Gill, President of the International Council for Central and East European Studies and longtime expert in Soviet and Russian politics at the University of Sydney, addressed the Institute on Russia’s internal affairs in the context of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, with a focus on Russia’s economy, society, and politics. Professor Gill assesses that the conflict has had, if anything, a positive impact on Russia’s economy and a generally neutral effect on Russian society, and has been ineffective in weakening Vladimir Putin’s political power." emphasis 'a positive impact on Russia’s economy' And as for what ttbn said... It's a trillion YUAN not Australian dollars. Not much more than the amount of US treasuries China has dumped in the last 12 months. US credit rating is dropping and its having trouble selling bonds to finance its debt (with a trillion in interest per year) And as for European countries who supported the Minsk agreements at the UN; Well, Germany's GDP is in the negative. Germany Warns Russia “WITHDRAW NOW!” As EU Faces Economic Collapse http://youtu.be/Ze8W3tajP08 Putin says Russia's economic growth will exceed 3% in 2023 http://www.reuters.com/world/europe/putin-says-russias-economic-growth-will-exceed-3-2023-2023-11-17/ "MOSCOW, Nov 17 (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that Russia's economic growth was set to exceed 3% this year, slightly better than previous official forecasts." To sanction nations with commodities the world relies upon is akin to sanctioning oneself. Posted by Armchair Critic, Saturday, 25 November 2023 11:59:12 AM

Sorry A.C., not inclined to believe the propaganda you've just repeated like a tame parrot. Nor am I inclined to believe Putin's utterings as he like his best buddy, Trump, is a habitual liar.

And, if Chin Lin is right, Communist China is being aided and abetted by Leftists in the West. The reason for all the meetings with Xi?
“Australia hoped for China to pursue the path of democratization”. Yes. We have all heard that naive nonsense; but, the truth is, kowtowing to China has had the opposite effect, and Australia, under ultra-Left Albanese, is pursuing the path of white-anting democracy in Australia.
All those ‘private talks’ with Xi that Australians cannot be trusted to know about.
“If the Democratic Party of the United States and the Chinese Communist Party are not twin brothers, then they are at least siblings, born from socialism.”
Let that one sink in.
The “extreme brutality of the CCP” is recognised. And Australians, Americans - any democratic countries - should hang their heads in shame for having any dealings at all with the barbarians. But, money and trade - of which we had plenty without China - is more important than humanity, obviously.
The communists have won, because any decoupling from this rotten regime now would see the West, Australia, collapse because we have handed over manufacturing to them, for one thing. Australians would start dying because eighty percent of our medication is made in China, not to mention just about everything else we used to make for ourselves.
And, it’s not China who has done this to us; it is our own governments - our real enemy - that we have all let do as they pleased because we get lots of cheap stuff. Pathetic!
