Clearly, with the Hard Left's Albanese refusing to even phone the Israeli PM, and the same Hard Left governments, federal and state, refusing to take action against Muslim Mobs supporting terrorists who are "Murdering, raping, beheading and abducting civilians" in Israel, any discussion in this country is pointless.
Australia can no longer claim to be a 'rule-of-law' country. It will not enforce the law that makes support of terrorism a criminal offence - now rife here, thanks to multiculturalism. Jewish people can no longer take their safety for granted in Australia. We don't know whether a Coalition government would have done the right thing, either; but that is beside the point because, right now, we have an extreme Left government, bordering on Communist, that doesn't care about Israel, with a leader who has always supported the idea of Palestine; and a really dreadful Foreign Minister calling for 'proportionality', 'restraint' and moral equivalence that simply does not exist in a time of war. Bet your bottom dollar that we will have even more of the lunatics from Gaza here very soon as part of the Albanese plan to well and truly root Australia. As Benjamin Netanyahu succinctly put it: we use rockets to protect our women and children. They use women and children to protect their rockets.

I'm not sure how much of this I agree with. Save, I unconditionally agree, Israel has every right to defend itself! And that the evil monster that is Hamas need to be eliminated with extreme prejudice!
As for the bombing of that hospital, one hears that Hamas is using it as its HQ. And that needs to end. If Hamas wants to hide behind human shields, it cannot be allowed to succeed. And those civilians and innocents being used as human sandbags will have to be unfortunate collateral damage. Nor can the world negotiate with terrorists! Sadly, had Israel and the PLO negotiated a ratified two state agreement, these atrocities may never have occurred? Alan B. Posted by Alan B., Friday, 3 November 2023 10:56:01 AM

We will know we have finally elected a decent government when the first thing they do is pull us out of the United Nations.

Meanwhile why not read this long essay written in 2015 which provides a unique understanding of why the Arab nations altogether were opposed to the intrinsically expansive Zionist project right from the start. The essay includes some very useful quotes re the stated purposes of the Zionist project and the (then) timely warnings re its inevitable blood-soaked outcome.
http://www.mepc.org/commentary/original-no-why-arabs-rejected-zionism-and-why-it-matters Nearly ten years later the on the ground results of the expansive project are muchly bigger and firmly entrenched. Posted by Daffy Duck, Friday, 3 November 2023 1:22:05 PM

In relation to the article you hyperlinked: It makes no reference to the fact that the beginning of the Jews mass return to Palestine to reconstitute the Jewish National Home began after World War 1 with the liberation of large of areas of land from 400 years of rule by the Ottoman Empire. The Principal Allied Powers agreed in 1920 to 99% of this land being allocated for Arab self-determination and 1% - Palestine - for Jewish self-determination. The Arabs didn't accept that subdivision. Even that was whittled down in 1922 when 78% of that 1% was set aside for Arab self determination in Transjordan. Arab Jew-hatred for the last 100 years trying to gain that 22% of 1% has caused Jews and Arabs losses of hundreds of thousands of lives in futile wars waged by the Arabs. Peace Treaties signed by Israel with Egypt (1979) and Jordan (1993) and the 2020 Abraham Accords offered some hope this Arab grab for the remaining 22% of 1% they did not get in 1922 would be resolved. The October 7 massacre in Israel and the absence of any response from the Arab world expressing abhorrence at what occurred is a setback - as is the failure of the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to root out out the vile perpetrators now hiding in a network of tunnels built in the last 15 years under Gaza's residential and commercial buildings, mosques, schools and hospitals. Your claim: "Nearly ten years later the on the ground results of the expansive project are muchly bigger and firmly entrenched" is laughable. This "expansive project" is taking part in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) - an area of land one eleventh the size of Tasmania - which the Jews were encouraged to settle for the purposes of reconstituting the Jewish National Home under article 6 of the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine and article 80 of the United Nations Charter. Is one Jewish State in this world existing among 57 Islamic States (22 Arab) too much for you to accept? Posted by david singer, Saturday, 4 November 2023 8:18:31 AM

Israels actions have redefined the Holocaust to be reduced to the Hollow cause.
The unfortunate reality is that Israel hijacked the Jewish faith and has placed all associated with it to be seen in an unfortunate light in the future. Jews will no longer be seen as survivors of the Holocaust but those who perpetrated the 60 year theft of Palestinian land, subjugation of the Palestinian people, and responsible for Palestinian massacre in Gaza in 2023. My sympathy for those of the Jewish faith. Israelis and the US share one common fault, shortsightedness. What could have been a peaceful co existence from the outset is now forever lost through greed. Posted by Special Delivery, Sunday, 5 November 2023 10:44:38 PM

Part 1 "Dear world You may forget, but we have long memories. We are, after all, the eternal nation. We remember how Rome, the vaunted and celebrated foundation of your civilization, massacred our towns, ravaged our people, and ripped us from our homeland. We haven't stopped bleeding. We have been commemorating our Nakbas for over 2000 years, each generation mourning anew. We remember how your crusaders, hungry for our homeland and thirsty for our blood, tore through our communities and families with swords and fire. We remember how your revered religious ideologies, tormented and enraged by our maintaining our faith, subjected us to the auto-da-fe and dhimmitude. We remember how your great empires persecuted us, expelled us, tortured, raped, pillaged, sent us as wanderers from place to place. You took our homeland and then you took our homes. You took our possessions and then accused us of robbing you. When we were poor and downtrodden we were dirt to you. When we were successful even more so. When we kept to ourselves it bothered you that we were different. When we tried to fit in it bothered you that we were defiling you. We remember that the fall of your kingdoms and empires brought your newfound philosophies. Right wing national socialism and left wing communism, united in their hatred of the Jew Posted by david singer, Monday, 6 November 2023 3:52:05 PM

Part 2 "Wanting to be rid of us you painted on our shops "Jew, go to Palestine!." Now you take to your Judenrein streets chanting "Jew, get out of Palestine" We remember how you turned your back on us, not sparing a single bomb to disrupt the trains taking us incessantly to our death, with a temporary reprieve when we were at our lowest and most broken. Just enough to, by the skin of our teeth, barely grant us a sliver of ghetto of a land with indefensible borders. And then we were a pawn in your cold war. You will be our ally so long as we serve your purposes. Your gifts come with so many strings attached they might as well be chains. When we got too strong, we were human rights violaters, occupiers, colonists. A wise rabbi wrote before his assassination that the world loves weak and dead Jews. You showed us that love for a few days the other week. How the naive among us relished it... But excuse us if we don't fawn over your short-lived sympathy So dear world, We hear your protests, your calls for restraint. We hear your human-rights loving masses foaming at the mouth about our committing genocide while polishing their halos with our blood. We hear them telling us that we have no right to self-determination, that we should instead entrust our safety to you. We hear you calling for us to self-destruct with just enough plausible deniability to tell us that you don’t really hate us. Dear world, we are on our own as we always were, with nothing but one another and our faith in God and in His ultimate redemption. We hear you loud and clear, world, and we have long memories. We are, after all, the eternal nation. So excuse us if this time we don’t give a damn." https://twitter.com/HilzFuld/status/1719707267610694044 Jew-hater: Revel in the slaughter, rape and dismemberment of 1400 men, women and children and over 200 taken hostage - most Jewish - but many not. You are a disgrace. Posted by david singer, Monday, 6 November 2023 4:04:28 PM

Jewish memories go back 3500 years. Palestinians' memories go back to when they were created in 1964 - and even then they did not claim sovereignty in Judea and Samaria - or as they called it "the West Bank in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan" - or on the Gaza Strip. So much for their false and misleading claims that anonymous Jew-haters like you have swallowed hook line and sinker. Posted by david singer, Monday, 6 November 2023 11:20:06 PM

None of these outrages could have occurred under a Trump Administration, and still may be unwound if the situation can stabilise until it is re elected in 2024, which is looking more a reality even from this distance out from the US elections
