Fighting the climate scare to defend life : Comments

By Tom Harris, published 30/8/2023

Pro-lifers should tell the public that the most severe weather of recent centuries occurred during the far colder Little Ice Age which ended about 1880. The worst weather of the past century, however, was generally during the Dust Bowl years of the 1930s.

WTF?

Linking pro-lifers to climate change?

Let's look at a different analysis of the Little Ice Age.

Science Direct published a research article back in 2019.

There is a lot in it so here we go:

The article states " We estimate that 55 million indigenous people died following the European conquest of the Americas beginning in 1492. This led to the abandonment and secondary succession of 56 million hectares of land."

"Including feedback processes this contributed between 47% and 67% of the.... decline in atmospheric CO2 between 1520 CE and 1610 CE seen in Antarctic ice core records."

" We conclude that the Great Dying of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas led to the abandonment of enough cleared land in the Americas that the resulting terrestrial carbon uptake had a detectable impact on both atmospheric CO2 and global surface air temperatures...."

"The Great Dying of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas resulted in a human-driven global impact on the Earth System in the two centuries prior to the Industrial Revolution."

Gawd. It's hard to believe that people are this silly; harder to believe that people are silly enough to write about it such silliness.

Climate change is not a scare tactic as every farmer with a functioning brain knows. And needs to be addressed to actually defend life.

And doable without tanking the economy, just the very opposite!

As simple as installing MSR thorium as our principal, carbon free, power source, that comes with power prices as low or lower than 3 cents PKWH!

Only morons would fail to comprehend the fundamental truth of that statement.

Two broad issues here. Firstly comparing extreme weather at times of different population density and adaptation knowledge. Secondly using one explanation for hurricanes and another for sea level rise when the Occam's Razor principle says to look for an underlying explanation for possibly related phenomena.

World population was 2bn in 1920 now it's 8bn. In the old days farmers plowed the fields to dust now it's no-till. I think you'll find that real climate scientists (not John Kerry) said hurricanes would be less frequent but more severe. Climate seems to be following the predictions. Instead of belittling us deniers should be telling us what to do next to see if it works.

"World population was 2bn in 1920 now it's 8bn."
Answers most of the questions.
