Labor reshaping Australia’s IR system to fit the union vision : Comments

By Graham Young, published 5/6/2023

The Australian Labor Party and the trade unions have been waging a war against what they call 'insecure work' and contracting for some years, but it is only now they are in power that the reality is starting to dawn.

"Should feel sorry for BPP?".

Only if we like virtue-signalling, woke corporations, chock-a-block up the backside of an extreme Socialist government, from whom they won't have the necessary cheap electricity to keep operating in Australia. They will be OK, but the rest of us will suffer.

But, workplace relations should be between employer and worker; and self-employed contractors are a good thing. Like all Socialist/Communist governments, the Albanese version is colluding with Socialist/Communist unions, to the detriment of workers and the country.

Agree with most of this, Graham. Suffice to say, labour hire firms need stronger laws and better oversight governing/monitoring their operations.

With those managers found guilty of gaming the system made to do real jail time! And I know you all know what I mean!

Arguably this is a case of making wage earners pay for increased and unsustainable energy costs. About which labor intends to do SFA! Why? Because they WILL NOT do nuclear energy. Why? because their political masters (CMFEU) forbid it.

The 3 Knights of the Apocalypse, big unions, big government, big business, combined to control the poor worker, & keep him that way.

Chapter and verse from the big business play book by the author. Who can feel sorry for "The Big Australian", which has just been exposed as ripping-off 30,000 of its workers to the tune of $400 million over a 10 year period. Don't confuse the nicety of "flexibility" with exploitation, you could be forgiven from reading the article that exploitation of employees by unscrupulous employers just doesn't happen, well not any more, yet the Fair Work Ombudsman is recovering more than $500 million for around 400,000 underpaid workers annually, and that is only the tip of the iceberg as most wage theft through under-payment goes unreported. Not every worker is on a $22 million a year pay packet like the CEO of BHP.
