I agree that our politicians need to think long term. Right now there seems to be a fantasy of 'green growth' whereby Australia can take over 300,000 immigrants a year while at the same time closing baseload power stations. Where will future people live? How much of their income will go on basic necessities or indeed what sort of jobs will they have?

Aside from emissions reduction Australia needs to think about adaptation to climate change which may exacerbate natural cycles. We've just had three wet years now maybe we're in for a protracted dry spell. Add high food prices to unaffordable mortgages and power bills. You get the feeling that whoever's in charge cannot see problems coming and they make it up as they go along.

We don’t need to take our "climate future" (whatever that means) out of politics; we need to put climate change hysteria out with the rest of the garbage that has built up ever since that idiot Morrison succumbed to global pressure, and the idiot electorate fell for the "crap" (Tony Abbott).

The are no "best" examples from around the world - at least not in the Western world, which is hell-bent on financial and cultural suicide. The best example comes from China, which is continuing to use fossil fuels - the cheapest and only reliable way to claw back everything our half-witted politicians and their puppeteers have taken away from us.

Agree, and conclude our best and brightest future is a nuclear powered one! As for fossil fuels, we can currently sell to the world all we can mine. And for mine that means we need to transition to nuclear power ASAP, but as MSR thorium that come with retail power prices the renewables can only dream about. And don't need hugely expensive battery backup.

Alternatively, we can wait as Elbow obfuscates and misinforms until the cows come home, as more and more businesses/domestic consumers are made bankrupt by crippling energy prices.

Don't just do something stand there and waffle on about a voice. It's not just indigenous Australians that have no voice, but every energy reliant Australian saddled with the albatross that's Australian privatised or corporatized coal and gas.

So here we have 3 ladies who between them would not have enough math to make change for a bus ticket, who have wasted years studying then teaching useless "disciplines" at some university, trying to develop high paying make work jobs for future "graduates" of their useless disciplines. I'm sure they really believe this rubbish, proving they have no place in forming policy, future or otherwise.

It is about time we put these ladies back in the kitchen, "barefoot & pregnant", where they just might do something useful, & at least would not do the damage that their ideas of the future would do.
