Armchair Critic,
Sadly, you're mistaken particularly if their problems were of Australian making !

We don't have the money to fix our own problems,
Why should we waste a single dollar trying to fix other peoples problems when we need to fix our own?

As long as we have citizens on hospital waiting lists and living in tents and cars, every dollar spent on foreigners is a dollar that could've been spent helping our own people.

Nobody in their right mind would pay their neighbours living expenses first and then not pay their own and let their own family suffer, when they're burdened with rising debt.
- As a nation why is it any different?

Let the wealthy people go there and invest or give charity.
Don't take from our own people.

Rising government debt means the government spends more than it receives in tax which leads to inflation, which itself is another form of tax that we all must pay on every purchase, and ultimately equates to stealing the money from everyone's pockets to better the lives of foreigners.

If we have excess employment opportunities we could also offer them short term extendable working visas, but the money they earn won't go back into our own economy to circulate.
