How much paint will Dan Andrews lose? : Comments

By Graham Young, published 25/11/2022

So the grounds are there for independents and the Greens to do well as a result of the lack of punch of the Liberal Party.

If I was a Victorian, I would want him stripped of paint. He is a truly awful person. But, it is said that people get the politicians they deserve, and Victorians definitely have two gangs of undesirable politicians. I am thankful to be a South Australian, where there is nobody like Andrews in either party.

If Andrews himself was kicked out, Victorian Labor would probably be more acceptable.

The run with the hare hunt with the hounds, greens will pick up some seats as will the teals/independents.

The, even with deal with the devil, green preferences, libs could lose some seats and abrasive, combative Guy the leadership.

Andrews could return with a slim wafer-thin majority. And only because he is not Guy.

The upper house may see some minor changes. The problem for the major parties is the stupid dumber than dumb preferential system.

For the upper house, voters should nominate 5 candidates below the line to ensure their preferences count for something.

Voting 1 above the line will hand their preferences to the backroom power brokers and dirty deals done in the dead of night.

Even so, regardless of who one votes for, one will always get a politician.

Evidently Victorians like having a premier who has his police shoot protesters in the back. Not a great look.

Yeah. And he's the one calling everyone not him, or one of his, Nazis, racists and anti-Semites, despite the spokesman for Jewish Australians, Dr, David Adler, saying that most of the anti-Semitism comes from the Left.

Apparently dictator Dan has declared that COVID is no longer exceptional. But, his wrecking of the state and people's lives over it remains exceptional - in the entire world! His actions and those of his political police were an international gobsmacker.

I wonder how many Victorians know of the millions of dollars quietly paid out as compensation for the lives Dan destroyed?

As to the upswing in current cases in the state, 'nice' Dan is now saying, just use "commonsense by managing your own risk. That’s the important thing …”. That's not really nice Dan: it's frightened Dan, hoping he will be forgiven, and everyone will just move on.

800 dead people can't move on; and who knows what the still living but permanently damaged, mentally and physically - from missing treatment due to being under house arrest - are getting on. Given Dan's Debt, there won't be enough money to buy them all off.

One bloke on the Forum has an obsession with Andrews, and he doesn't even live in Victoria, having made four of the six posts on this discussion so far. Do I care if Andrews is returned, no, do I care if what's his name from the Liberals get up, no. I see some "gun nuts" have been masquerading as "independents", must have learned something from the last federal election, and now trying to cash in.

Dear Hasbeen,

How's it going old cock? Good?

The Victorian Police did not shoot anyone in the back during the lockdowns so why claim it.

As to Andrews if we had a halfway decent opposition I would have been tempted to help put Labor out for a term, primarily because of their increasing hubris and because I think it is healthy for our democracy.

But the Victorian Coalition are backward thinking, small minded, puffed up, bunch of incompetents of the highest order.

The difference between the NSW coalition is stark. Progressive policies on climate, on water theft, and on a number of other fronts keeps them in contention in their state but the Victorian mob is spouting policies from 2 decades ago. Hapless and hopeless is probably being kind.

Considering the over-the-top media pile-on over Andrews as far back as the bushfires and the constant foaming-at-the-mouth lies from the Murdoch press in particular, Andrews will certainly lose votes but that alone doesn't make the alternative automatically better.
However that's how "democracy" works nowadays.

From what I can see from NSW I would swap Andrews for our inept Premier "Dumb Perrotits" in a heartbeat.

Hi rache,

You only have to look at the public transport disaster in Sydney to realise what a "bunch of turkeys" are running the state, starting with the happy clapper bible bashing Dom the Dill. Down in Sydney last week, on Saturday a train trip from Penrith to Leppington via Grandville took us three and a half hours instead of the normal one hour. To "compensate" the Dill put on a week of free trains. They have privitised the bus network, the new operator has managed to reduce on time running efficiency from 97% under State Transit to 80%, they are now begging the government to allow them to introduce the Saturday timetable Monday to Friday, ridiculous. My son a bus driver himself tells me, drivers are leaving in droves, and they can't get new starters because of the reduced pay and conditions, he is constantly getting phone calls at 4am begging him to "please come in, we're desperate". Passenger abuse is at an all time high, as people wait for the bus running an hour late, or not turning up at all. The privatised Sydney Ferries are no better!

A little anecdote; Last week son gets a radio call as he is leaving Circular Quay; "You are running 17 minutes late!" Son said; "Yes I took a 2 minute toilet break to go for a piss, instead of the mandatory 5 minute minimum turn around time...YOU F/WIT!" End of conversation.

We now have two choices, we can vote for the government of Victoria from one Andrew, or we can watch a Bollywood movie in Hindi from another Andrew (see above post). given the two choices, watching the Bollywood movie is tempting.

Rache is back, still suffering Murdochphobia; there seems to be no cure for the disease. Is it a disease, though? Or is just another form of bigotry of the kind suffered by Andrews who calls everyone who doesn't fall under his spell Nazis, racists and anti-Semites.

ttbn you seem to have a fixation with Dan Andrews, having made more than half the posts on this thread. What's the attraction? Is he your kinda guy, wink wink.

"This is the takeout message from a virtual focus group of 180 Victorians who shared their opinions with us over the first week and a half of the election campaign."

"There is plenty of incentive for voters to send Andrews a message that he is "power mad" and a "bully".

Graham, given the result, the takeout message is sitting in an echo chamber with 180 of the like minded conservative brethren and believing their opinions would have any reflection on the reality of the outcome is delusional. But keep believing it, one day it might come true.

BTW, Great result for the GREENS! Did the 180 like minded predict that? Me thinks not.

Well looks like I was closer to the mark. He did better than I thought. And the others in a self-deluded minority.

Not very much paint at all.

Labeling someone antisemitic does not make it true even when dumber than dumb (ttbn) you foolishly repeat the fallacious allegation.
Sorry, Alan B.

ttbn,
Did we ever have to waste any sympathy on Victorians?
If so, I think it will come as news to most Croweaters, who tend to regard Vapourrubbers similarly to how the Scots regard the English!

I feel sorry for poor ole Peta Credlin. No, I really do. She poured so much energy crawling around in the gutter to produce that piece about "The Cult of Daniel Andrews" and those silly Victorians totally and completely ignored her and voted Dan back in for another 4 years. And this time with a possible increased number of seats to boot. Those incompetent Liberals sure copped a spray from "The Cult that is Peta" on Sky. A joy to watch.

The curse of Africa is their tribalism. Natives will vote again and again for corrupt and incompetent leaders solely because they are "their" corrupt and incompetent leaders.

The victorian election has many parallels the most corrupt and incompetent government in Australia is continuously re-elected by rusted on Labor subjects.

I'm unsure whether this is due to a new form of tribalism, Stockholm syndrome, or group amnesia, but Victorians cannot blame anyone else.

Poor old Shonky,

I said earlier I didn't care if Labor's Andrews was returned or if the Liberals and their wombat what's his name, who can remember, got up. The Greens done well, the hard right extremist "gun nuts" were defeated. Shonky has been left crying in his beer once more, a perfect result. When the "born to rule mob" get a shellacking its always someone else's fault, its the voters fault, or its their opponents fault, its never their fault, after all they are born to rule. Like their folk hero, they can blame it all on the German, sorry Victorian, people. Me thinks this guy suffers from Weasel Syndrome.

Hummm ,was it another wasted Saturday for Shonky, handing out HTV's for the "Gun Nuts" and Hansonites in Victoria. Me thinks so.
