"Forget the past". How brainless.

Modern Australians don't have anything to forget. They can't forget what they don't know and have never been taught. That's why they are doomed to failure, with all the you beaut ideas they are coming up with, blissfully unaware that their stupidity has been tried and failed before.

"the backsliding of some democracies towards autocracy".

If democracy is a nation where it's own people decide their own future, then what do you call this global western collectivism?

Countries dictated to by international treaties, governing bodies and UN sustainable development goals?

In this context I could talk about 'the backsliding of some democracies towards globalism'
- Since the people now have global overlords issuing their dictates to all nation leaders, and the people come last.
(Which also effectively means that they're not the leaders, because they aren't the one's doing the lead-ing.
They're branch managers 'of globalism' at best.
And traitors to national soverignty and democracy at worst.

What sort of a vote is one that results in the decisions being placed permanently in the hands of foreign unelected bureaucrats where the people in the country don't have a say at all anymore?

That's not a vote, it's called 'sign your life away' and let others make the decisions on your behalf.

"Of course we need policy alternatives in this problematic and competitive world, but where is the research or argument today that demonstrates an effective alternative to this globalised world given that freer trade has created enormous wealth with global production meaning cheaper goods, notwithstanding related environmental degradation?"

You want an effective alternative?

It's not 'unity in global agendas'.
It's 'unity in national self-sufficiency'.
(This aim transcends all the woke political crap, it cares not for the left nor for the right, but simply for the best interests 'of the people')

Lose the former and embrace the latter
Our leaders are weak and have lost their way.

Should Australians pay more for stuff from smaller and smaller household budgets. Is leadership and vision so limited that this is this is the best a, I believe, a visionless mediocre labor stalwart can come up with.

My vision for the future doesn't include simply vacating the economic field. But instead looks at the past for examples that remain valid even today, when leaders with bold vision stood through the pages of history rather than like today whimper and fold the tent after years of quite mediocre, debt reliant and outsourcing management.

Simply as a measure, regardless of the rhetoric, to obtain/buy votes.

We need to change what isn't working, fix what is broken.

#1/ Nothing off of the table energy policy. (Think SMR MSR thorium/MSR nuclear waste burners and all but free energy, and microgrids)

#2/ Do fair dinkum tax reform.

#3/ De-privatize all essential cash cow service.

#4/Embrace cooperative capitalism and the co-ops we used to have, and all over the shop to install the usual economic flow on economic factors that makes one dollar do the work of seven!

Both major parties have been at the helm since the seventies, when we last saw future vision and the national interest, front and centre.

And a nation that was the third wealthiest and a debt free creditor one at that. Minds need to be released from the locked and bolted ideological strongboxes.

The only thing tough on the road ahead is getting politicians to remove the ideological blinkers and fundamentally flawed mindsets!

DO NOT FORGET THE PAST BUT TAKE A LEAF FROM THE LEAF OF THE VISIONARY LEADERS THAT STRODE DOWN THE PAGES OF OUR IMMEDIATE POST WAR HISTORY!

Correction. stood through the pages of history should read, strode through. And taking a leaf from the leaf should read, a leaf from the book!

Had to completely rewrite the post twice and continually correct the rearranged text.

Got a couple of Cyber hacker trogons nasties/malwares, I believe, that call themselves, Grammarly and Mcfee. Obviously bogus/cyber hacker and stuff I did not order nor purchase!

Nor am I not bound by previous retailer's decisions, pertaining to a demonstrator model!

Clement Attlee was Labour not Labor.

As for your questions, I'll answer them when I'm less busy.
