The September 22 decision by the UNHRC regarding the human rights of Australia's Torres Strait Islanders vis-à-vis climate change is yet another step in the journey of redress.

Waiting for a different response from elbow? Well, he is not going into parliament branding a lump of yummy coal.

Other than that, he'll still champion coal exports. Albeit, while talking up renewables at home. Most of which will be private investments.

We will burn coal as dispatchable energy until the cows come home. All of which will create economy killing, whatever the market can bear, energy prices.

B

Because everything else has an energy component, everything else will get dearer. Those who can pass on their increased costs, will do so. With only the last in this food chain, the consumer at the checkout to absorb all of it.

This will lead to wage increase demands, strikes and industrial unrest. But no real action on climate change. Or a timely transition to dispatchable carbon-free energy!

Why? because there's so much vested interest in coal mining, production and exports. Almost exclusively due to idiotic privatization outcomes by idiotic parliamentarians. Who by and large, had no people's mandate to privatize anything!

The only time the Torres Strait Islanders will get real climate change action is when their combined vote will change government. Doable if they can get enough support and the Citizen's party installed or holding the balance of power.

With change, see a transition to MSR thorium nuclear power. The only carbon-free energy that we can roll out that won't kill the economy but do the very opposite as well as restart our stalled or offshored manufacturing sector.

They also have plans to roll out rapid rail/drought proof Australia.

When we roll out the lowest power prices in the world and a manufacturing sector able to then more than compete with the biggest economies. The rest of the world will have to follow. Or face financial ruination.

With that done and dusted, we could reestablish our own shipping line and costal shipping. The latter improving the lot of the average Torres Strait Islanders. As will a transition in a timely manner, to carbon free energy that both we and the world afford!
