Parliamentary privilege is under threat : Comments

In the English-speaking world, members of parliament have the right to speak freely in parliament without risking arrest or being sued.

Parliamentary privilege should not include a right to defame with impunity! Or engage in abuse or expose matters of a confidential nature the public do not need to know! After all, we're talking about a privilege not a right.

If one would have more then it needs to be balanced with a long overdue bill of universal irrevocable human rights!

Depends what you call defamation.

I read this article elsewhere, and thought that it was mainly about the problems the author himself had while he was in Parliament.
