By Murray Hunter, published 24/6/2022

These two papers, only weeks old, indicate public policy issues that were either overridden or ignored over the last two and a half years during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Judging by the comments I've read over the past two years I've come to the conclusion that Govt should take funds out of COVID research & start research into eliminating stupidity !

Alan B,
Well, those with nor retort always resort to ridicule !
99.9% of decisions affecting industry, commerce & legislations are made by educated people.
Works wonderfully doesn't it ?
Even those not heeding your Thorium etc ideas are educated people.

an overreaction
ttbn,
I'm sure that those who survived by the skin of their teeth wouldn't call it overreacting !

Ok Indy, those who survived by the skin of their teeth welcomed mandatory vaccines. Including Covid 19, we're having a perfect storm.

Huge debt, rising interest rates and due to the pump priming by the previous government during the pandemic, with fiscal liquidity now flooding the economy. As too much money chasing reduced supply all over the joint. A situation made worse by the recent floods that has made food production fraught. And an energy drought.

And the morons in Canberra can only think about power and retaining it. With plans about what they intend to do to win the next term. With a few pennies spent here and there to buy votes? That's the limit of their thinking! And ensuring the even more moronic greens are keep happy! Even nuclear subs are put on the back burner as Collins class are being posed as the intrim solution?

So nuclear power, i.e., MSR thorium, is an energy source whose name cannot be mentioned, lest the greens withhold their labor preferences Even if it is the only way we can put a pin in the inflation bubble and kick start the inflation free economic recovery!

Alan B,
I'm with you all the way on that. However, even better would be reducing population by way of their own affordability. Can't feed five kids, only have two ! Have two kids & receive child support, have three no more support ! Have more than two children, no immigration !
Spend 12-18 months in national Service will stop late teen pregnancies ! Single mums with more than two children need to become a thing of the past !
That'll save so much money Govt will have no choice but spend it on housing etc.
Add to this your thorium powered electricity supplies & all will be good.
