Opportunities of a Labor government should not be wasted : Comments

By Tristan Ewins, published 20/6/2022

In the run-up to the Federal Election many progressives tried to justify Labor's small target strategy by arguing that Labor would get things done when in government.

Whatever. Labor will stuff it up, as usual.

If we stopped squandering money on closing the gap programs for useless aboriginals we could fund a lot of other useful programs such as improving the services for the elderly who are in care.

That's all very well, but dependent on the cost of energy, it's cascading effect though the length and breadth of the entire economy.

And what we do know is, labors's plans, batteries and/pumped hydro can only quite massively increase energy costs!

And will remain the only possible outcome as long as nuclear power remains selectively off the table. As long as the BS that renewables are cheaper? This will remain the case!

Thorium is the most energy material on the planet. Just 8 grams of the metal contains enough recoverable energy to power your house and car for a century! The cost of recovering that 8 grams as the metal, just 100 dollars! And that's just 1 dollar a year. Point to any renewable that could make that verifiable claim.

It's not as if there is any Australian Uni offering a degree on Thorium as an energy source or specifically, MSR thorium. Or the fact that it is without question the cleanest, cheapest, safest energy source in the world.

Australia is being crippled economocally by the cost of energy and until labor develops a spine and adopts SMR, MSR thorium as it base load, carbon free energy.

This will not just remain the case, but worsen with time! As for coal/gas? Not threatened at this time due to the prices internationally.

All that I'm advocating could be financed by Australia accepting nuclear waste for storage. And then using it in walk away safe MSR technology where it's just mostly unspent fuel and good enough in quite modest amounts to power Oz for centuries.

And usher in the most dramatic industrial manufacturing renissance via publicly owned power, using totally free fuel in complete safe walk away safety! Part of which could be mass produced SMRs, as one a day, for an energy desperate international market!

I've researched this area for the best part of fifteen years! My last post was that of a science assistant for a power authority until I was forced into early retirement nearly forty years ago. And had ample research time on my hands!

One of the opportunities labor will waste is on real tax reform. We need to make sure those who earn an income or profits here pay their fair share! And end economically harmful front loaded taxes like payroll tax, stamp duties and the like.

labor is not interested in real tax reform given they need the never ever forthcoming permission from their political masters.

The introduction GST was supposed to be accompanied by the removal of stamp duties. Even as the states to a man rejected the implimentation of the GST. They are now like squabbling gulls chasing a hot chip in their haste to get their share from that bucket of money!

The argument that he is not a US citizen and he was not in the US
anyway is valid but he did not hack into their computer system.
That was done by Chelsie something who then gave the information
to Julian Assange.
The only thing he can be charged with is someone gave him secret
information and he passed it on.
US newspaper publishers did the same thing.
None of them charged as far as I have seen.

A lot of your ideas are good and well meaning...
- But how do you intend to pay for it?

Different countries have different resources.
Some countries are better for agriculture, whilst others have oil, gas or mining resources.
Making all countries fit a generic box for climate targets is unrealistic.

If one country has coal in excess and others need it
- Then how does it make sense for all activists to have a generic war on it in each country?

You need to be realistic in where we are and where we want to go.
'Unity in self sufficiency' is the only policy that matters.

Our country is good for mining, this is the reality of our nation.
Those that oppose it and wish to glue themselves to roads or park on train tracks in protest to stop coal trains
- Should be sentenced by courts to go and work in those mines.

I'm tired of the stupidity and much of it comes from people like the author.
University trained, that produce nothing of benefit.
- And who get paid to simply state the obvious -

Hey Tristan,

None of what you are avowing was presented to us electors to vote on at the last election.

There's no mandate nor costing for your outrageous wish list.

That is what happened when the National Socialist Party of Germany was elected.

They introduced reform nobody had voted for.

One of the things they did was to direct the operation and profitability of businesses. ie, not take over businesses and run them as Socialists everywhere avow.

Last week I saw that idiot Minster Bowen try to direct the pricing of private energy business whose operations are already unprofitable because of the dictation, not by markets, but by fascist behaving Australian governments.

Do you realise your attitude is completely in sync with those fascist behaviours?

Thought, thought his feet were out of bed, so he got out to put them
in again. Not interested in debating a loony tune nutjob. Who seems to have extreme difficulty in reading and comprehensively understanding the written word. GFY Jules.

Better yet put your head into a bucket of water three times and pull it out twice. But before you do explain in English that at least pretends to be rational! On what basis, DH, would elbow change his name to thorium? They're going to lock you away they're, you sad sack excuse for a man!

Have you heard some of the rants of Adam Brant over recent days ?
What an idiot ! He says, even though we have the current electricity
problem, they should not put the stations on quick start standby.
He says its a waste of money.
He wants to close all coal fired stations NOW !

Some of the silly things he says make me think that he is insane or
at the very least completely disconnected from reality.
I think that Albo, if he wakes up, should call an ambulance and have
Brant taken to a mental hospital. It really is that serious.
Imagine someone with his reasoning ability being in charge of a ship
a plane or even a bus.

Lovely Alan

Ive always thought recognise our best and worst in others.

We tend to compliment our best in others and criticise our worst in others.

So in my book your critisim simply defines yourself.

cheers mate

Don't worry, Labor won't waste an opportunity to spray taxpayers' money at Labor vanity projects that were never promised at the election.

I wouldn't call Medicare Dental a 'vanity project'.

There are plenty of labor vanity projects. School halls was a prime example.

We must all remember that the politicians, especially left leaning
politicians are all stupid.
Those that approved the blowing up of some power stations demonstrated
that with startling clarity.
There was not a moments thought, "perhaps we should mothball these
stations just in case we end up needing them ?"

A pretty fundamental consideration I would have thought. Especially
as the replacement equipment was not yet installed.
A little reflection by a first year apprentice would have come to that
conclusion. Therefore I think it is not unreasonable to conclude
that the people we have in charge are stupid.

The latest bit of stupidity has been PM Albo's conclusion that his
latest legislation will stop the rain falling.

Oh Dear, you wouldn't read about it, but we do read about it!
