The sinews of war are economic. We need to ensure we have a strong economy, with multiple redundancies.

Via Putin's actions there was a clear and compromised weakness in the 'west', especially the Anglosphere UK and Oz following the US GOP of Trump et al.?

Trump, when President, actually praised Putin and Russian security services over the US; treason in any normal person's mind, but not for white Christian nationalist &/or RWNJs?

From Brexit UK, US alt right/evangelicals, Hungary, Poland, Salvini, Le Pen, Bosnian Serbia et al. all hero worship Russia, but the 'Murdoch sphere' is very coy about clear links between Putin's Russia and the Anglosphere; not just fossil fuels but white nativists & libertarian ideology too, masquerading as conservative?
