Others have claimed that the setup time taken for oil companies to start extraction means that Biden's decision is not responsible for the oil price rise. What evidence do you have that they're wrong?

This will accelerate the expected transition to electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles! And those transport companies that invest in, in house electrolysis? Their fuel costs, (hydrogen) will over time, come in under diesel! And depending on the number of fuel tanks on board, able to stretch range to around 800 klms with refuelling times roughly equivalent to that required by diesel.

As our conflicted parliaments dither and bluster over climate change and our asinine dependence on coal. Private enterprise is acting in their and our best interests. And where one clearly leads and makes a very credible business case, others will follow! And conflicted coal-fired parliaments will also follow!

Albeit, kicking and screaming every inch of the way! As foreign coal funding for electoral reelection support dries up!? As it must! Accompanied by howls of anguish as sky news/extreme right-wing troglobites and the likes of Alan Jones go blood red ballistic!? As their fossil fuel dividends dry up? And given I'm right? Will serve the stupid fools right!

Aiden. One doesn't see the claimed evidence, just more production cuts to force the price skyward. As fuel is weaponised by the usual suspects? And given that's so? Tauntimont to them shooting themselves in their own economic feet? As we applaud from the sidelines!

Alan B.,
But what's the real cause of the production cuts?

In case I didn't put it sufficiently clearly in my earlier post, it has been claimed that, had Biden not paused the granting of drilling leases on public land, the oil from the new leases would not be on the market yet anyway.
