It is increasingly apparent that the overall PNG response to the virus, and the state of the nation's health system, put our closest neighbour on the cusp of a crisis.

Foreign aid has a proportionate standard attached to it: 90% appearances and self interest, and 10% real care.

Using the benefits of the first fraction, now would seem to be a strategically opportune time to free PNG of its Chinese strangle-hold.
But using the examples from home of the self absorbed Politicians, this gem of a moment will be ignored until all is too late, and China sits comfortably on our door step in PNG.

Judging by the debacle with the French submarine, and it’s total lack of evidence, any skill at all exists in the diplomatic abilities of Australian politicians, a strategic and timely military manoeuvre can’t be anticipated.

It seems that pig iron Bob isn’t really dead at all.
