The death watch!

The health care industry is where the money is! Huge money to be made here, and the competition for those dollars is very controlled.

Like the building industry, the smart ones design an end point of bankruptcy into the resurrection process of the fail proof business model, loosely described as “begin again”., this is where brothers come in handy.

More money please Daddy!

As a young man growing up, I saw and believed medicine was a vocation, not a pathway to a millionaire status!

I also saw medicine like housing as a human right in a more enlightened civilised society, not yet so indoctrinated that so many chest-thumping, bible bashers, now worship mannon,i.e., money as their God?

And aiding and abetting that outcome by limiting the number of qualifying medical graduates entering the "health care" system every year!

We could get some more locally trained Meicos in public health if we trained more of them in free tertiary education! And to make that possible, we need to collect more tax as actually increased revenue to the ATO!

But not from already hard-pressed taxpayers, but rather from those who avoid paying a fair share and will continue to do so until we throw out the current tax system and begin anew with a new one where those above a generous tax-free threshold pay an unavoidable minimum of 15% collected as a flat tax from all earnings and profits generated here!

And without minimisations or exclusions available for those who would otherwise game the system.

Were this the new paradigm, we would more than double the current revenue stream as incoming funds to the ATO. Given in actual cash transferred as tax liability, the highest company tax has not exceeded 13% in recent years, with some paying in actual tax, 4% with up to 40% paying none to nobody?

Simply make all tax avoidance and minimisation impossible along with a far fairer system that allows folk to keep the lion's share of their income! Would negate the need to engage such strategies and their cost, which averages 7%. And that 7% could then be returned to the bottom line! Meaning in adjusted terms, outgoings for co. tax purposes, would be reduced in real terms, to just 8%!

And more importantly, less time and personal pouring over books looing for tax loopholes and savings!

Footnote. Before Aiden jumps in like a Pavlos salivating dog? I'm not and never ever was talking about taxing turnover! Just gross profit and income earned here above validated and justified operational costs! If that exposes, way too clever by half, imaginative accounting or money laundering? So be it!
