Nadia Bartel: some shaming is a good thing : Comments

More importantly, it is good for the community but needs to avoid turning into a public shaming pile-on.

One has no issue with the shaming of a public figure craving publicity breaking restrictions, hence, the law and the social contract, seeing herself above others.

However, while Australia and this forum is over populated by nativist and/or conservative libertarians promoting American 'freedom & liberty', one thinks if caught doing any drugs to fess up and explain it's their personal freedom of choice (not harming others), while comparing with our alcohol love affair......

This is opposed the billions spent annually on detection, policing, crime, investigations, imprisonment and rehab; while drugs are neither legal nor regulated, as a result of culture wars or in the US was Nixon and the 'Rockefeller Drug Laws' used to target and denigrate minorities.
