South-East Asian states won't necessarily take sides like most did in the Cold War.

Maybe so, Murray? But in an increasingly polarised world, it's going to be, if you are not for us, you're agin us! Think about that and don't think playing both ends agin the middle is ever going to be a good strategy! It's likely to end with neither side trusting that demographic! And could end very badly for those not prepared to nail their colours to the wall!
