It's easy to stand with the crowd. It takes courage to stand alone. Clarrie Briese showed us how.

One would think a diagnosis of terminal cancer? Would have made many reassess their lives and their priorities!

That said, I don't believe much of moment has changed in the corruption capital of Australia? Or the slimy individuals/power brokers in the background, who pull all their puppet's strings?

Jump? Yes sir, how high?

In the last thread about Don Aitken, I mentioned his work on 'The National Times'. It was that paper which was instrumental in exposing the corruption at the heart of people like Lionel Murphy, various NSW magistrates and the NSW Labor Government.

Remember that this was the party that housed and protected people like Al Grassby who was basically the drug cartel's nominee to, and inside man in, the Whitlam government.

There was plenty of corruption to go around at the time. Queensland was a hotbed and another place the Nation Times exposed.

At the time (late 70s early 80s) Australia was economically declining and stagnant. In such times, there is an impulse to fight over the crumbs at the table and corruption inevitably arises. As things improve, such as under Hawke, there are better opportunities in being part of the expansion rather than fighting over the shrinking cake and so corruption declines.

The following decades in Australia are going to be ones of declining wealth and economic well-being. Expect to see a growth in corruption that always accompanies that. Or maybe not. The media is now so well controlled that the chances of the corrupt being exposed is small.

I suspect you are right, Mhaze. But only because most Australians are too stupid to elected incorruptible leaders Leaders who would root out systemic corruption by utilising unbeatable, space-age, covertly deployed lie detector assisted annual integrity testing!

And give a similarly tested ("untouchable") ICAC some real teeth and proper resourcing. And get one established and overseeing the Feds!

Corrupt behaviour is currently rewarded or routinely ignored? And that just cannot continue to be the gold standard in politics? Get into bed with dogs and you get fleas!

I could talk on the subject of loony leftist corruption for hours, including names, dates, times, without repeating myself & at the end of it, we would be discussing the protection of ongoing pedo-rings.

Luciferian leftism is the most evil religion in world history.
