Sydney Mockdown: the delta variant strikes : Comments

By Binoy Kampmark, published 14/7/2021

The most telling element behind the surge of cases is the blithe approach taken to the health orders by the citizenry of Australia's largest city.

Will Australians ever fight back against the totalitarian thugs that Australian politicians have become, using fear to keep ignorant people down and crying for help from a 'strong man'. Using fear is basic 101 how to become a dictator. They now have a young woman, oxygened up, struggling for breathing, advertising that Covid can happen to anyone. How crude can they be!

In Cuba, poor ignorant citizens have taken to the streets protesting against the Castro Communist thugs. In Australia, the poor ignorant citizens slow-boil like frogs.

Don’t you love this one:

*...Sounding at points comically maternal, Berejiklian has been telling those in Sydney to be honest about where they have been...#

And this coming from the mafia Godmother of property developers herself, Berejiklian.

I give up on this world.

This has been on the cards since the Ruby Princess and the keystone cops/buck-passing debacle that let the first strain in.

Then it was not fit for purpose hotel quarantine. And the daily photo op of the self-congratulating ( I don't handle a hose) P.M.

When it comes to a pandemic! Words are just that, words! When what was needed then and now, was resolute action!

Actions that meant, we'd stop this virus or any of the increasingly virulent and deadly strains before they got in. And that had to and still does, require island quarantine. Not looking after cronies with investments in inner-city hotels?

Then it was a Federal medico who suggested herd immunity by just letting her rip? As occurred in NY! Along with the mass graves etc, that followed!

Then it was the absolute reluctance to invest in the local manufacture of MRd vaccines? Before we privatised anything not nailed down, we could have done it in our C.R.S.O.I.

We didn't have a tertiary hospital on Christmas Island! So when that kid got so very sick! The government flew her to Perth, where she received treatment! And that same medivac paradigm could work for all island quarantine!

I' am for one just so over a government that tells what they won't do! Then when they are forced to do something? Have a ready-made solution in medivac!

And where they've been able, politicised a pandemic shamelessly?

Moreover, they seem to fail to understand, that a fully vaccinated person can still play host to a virus as an Asymptomatic super spreader carrier!

So masks, quarantine and rapid testing will need to continue until there is herd immunity! And for that to be realised, the tin lids will also need to be fully vaccinated! As for the delta variant? The right approach is a sharp and full lockdown, replete with a mandatory curfew! And non-compliance treated with a hefty fine and a period on an island!

Works for me!

A man in WA has been jailed for 7 months for a quarantine breach. People regularly kill people with cars, get charged with causing death by dangerous driving, an never go any where near a jail.

The “Great” fail here is the failure of the collective when putting their total trust in a political system to save them from death.

Eg, reliance for survival on a welfare system, does a pretty good job at reinforcing the misconception.
I notice someone on this site claimed 80% of our population are so secured.

This broken dream is the reality now that politicians are exposed to. So desperate to continue the lie are they, that absurdity is the only outcome.

Anything which reduces reliance on Politicians can only be a good thing on the road to recovering credibility to our administrations, for that is what they are, and definitely not a God or a spiritual substitute.

I put my thoughts in a discussion I started June 27th "Gladys Don't Use The "L" Word". It was obvious then that Berejiklian had become a captive of the money changers and any attempt to quash the delta virus was dependent on their financial interests above all else, public health was a secondary consideration. The incompetent NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard continues to retain his position despite a number of bungles and stuff-ups by his department. The most recent being the "Mr Limo Driver" fiasco which sparked this new outbreak. We had the appalling spectacle the other day of Berejiklian, Hazzard and Chant trying to explain to the public the meaning of the word "essential" as it applied to work and needs. If it wasn't so serious you would have to laugh.

The other absurdity is Morrison and the vaccine, despite being caught with his pants down Morrison is insisting wagon loads of vaccines will be coming over the hill, when...shortly! The fact is Morrison and co left Australia vulnerable to serious infection and yet again like NSW no one in government is taking responsibility.

Paul 1405.

Irrespective of the advances in technology since Adam and Eve, those that press the buttons are (according to the erroneous theory of Darwinism IIE), still connected by the brainpower of a Chimpanzee.

Hope that helps!

Hi DD,

They say we humans have 95% of the D and A of chimpanzees. Unfortunately we missed out on the other 5% so we'll just have to live with it.

What about the poor folk in Fairfield Sydney. The Liberal party clowns demand all workers leaving the area be tested.

"The changes sparked six-hour wait times (up to 8 hours) at Endeavour Sports Park 24-hour clinic as thousands came forward for testing." THEY HAD TWO BLOODY LINES SET UP.

Creationism and Darwinism are a debate best left in its own corner, due to time and space constraints.
But I got a smile for the day with this one:
*... Unfortunately we missed out on the other 5% ...*

Since the rise of liberalism and the overcrowding in hell that has caused, Dante has added the new gleaming tenth circle of Hell, with its centre of Administration in the Western suburbs.

Added to his expanding collection of evil monsters, is the new administrator, the Queen of property developers, a smiling dragon dripping with hot profits, and wearing its pants around its knees, Our Gladys.

Hope that helps a bit too!

It is proving to be an unfolding nightmare. For a government that had been beaming with pride at their COVID contract tracing for months, insisting that people could live, consume and move about with freedom as health professionals wrapped themselves around the virus, the tune has changed. The only conclusion we can draw from this is that things are going to get worse before they get better."

The 11 am press conferences are proving grim affairs tinged by panicHow many people are permitted in your home? On each successive occasion, the Premier seemed panicked, even shrill

SYDNEY, July 12 (Reuters) - The prospect of an extended lockdown in Sydney loomed on Monday as Australian health officials reported yet another record daily rise in COVID-19 cases for the year, fuelled by the highly infectious Delta variant.

New South Wales state reported 112 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, almost all in Sydney, despite the country's biggest city entering its third week of lockdown. Case numbers have been at record levels for at least three days.

There was, however, a glimmer of light as the number of newly-infected people who were out in the community while infectious dropped to 34 from 45 on Sunday.

State Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the progress of that figure in coming days would determine whether Sydney's lockdown, due to end on Friday, would be extended.

"That's the number we need to get as close to zero as possible," Berejiklian said during her daily televised briefing. "It is really up to us. The health expert advice will be based on what those numbers look like. I can't be clearer than that."

Berejiklian said most of Monday's cases were family members or close friends of already infected people, and pleaded with residents to comply with lockdown rules, which were tightened over the weekend. read more

Total infections in the outbreak are nearing 700, less than a month since the first was detected in mid-June. Sixty-three people are in hospital, with 18 in intensive care, officials said, while a woman in her 90s became the country's first COVID-19 fatality this year.

Lockdown measures for Sydney's five million residents, including school closures and stay-at-home orders, have stoked concerns of a slowdown in the economy, which had returned to pre-pandemic levels in the first quarter

Looking at the situation in Sydney, its time to introduce the "LOCKUP" where incompetent government ministers are charged with manslaughter and following due process these incompetence are dragged off to where they belong. Long Bay for a very long period of isolation!
