I don't see any racist overtones in post-war development! just bipartisan pragmatism that is completely missing in modern and deeply divided parliaments! Thus we had services like tram tracks and railway tracks ripped up rather than maintained and modernised!

And if that then contributed to perceived urban racism and postcode poverty traps/deindustrialisation? It's simple if unproven speculation?

What we've needed is serious upgrades of the above and the rollout of very rapid rail! And still do!

As for our industrial decline? I see that as the result of political bastardry and the privatisation of the energy delivery system, that has never ever served the nation, just the vested interests of a few very powerful players!

And resulted in the inevitable freeways/massive gridlock/ deindustrialisation/concrete jungles!
