Economics has traditionally been based on prioritizing scarcity and allocation. Now we seem to be moving to an era of abundance (if not over-supply).

We could be breathing a sigh of relief that we have largely dodged the Covid bullet. The tough nuts are yet to arrive. One is the end of JobKeeper. Another is serious emissions reduction. With a flurry of building solar panels and windmills some think fossil fuels are on the way out yet they still account for 70% of our electricity and nearly 100% of transport and industrial heat.

Conservatives like the LNP and closet conservatives the ALP will misread the signs and increase Australia's population to even more unsustainable levels. Housing affordability, inland river water, genuine high employment and elective surgery wait times show little sign of improving.
