I'm sick of this China bashing by you people. It's totally racist and uncalled for. How can we expect to project an image of ourselves as an Asian nation-state when we're criticising our Chinese brothers and sisters.

Our do-nothing, say-nothing Prime Minister should be called on to address matters like this. There is no point in writing articles about it. There is nothing we can do.

We all have different opinions of who 'the-worst-Prime-Minister-ever is'. Those opinions are usually based on personal political bias and not really on the abilities of the individuals occupying the position. If you lean to the right, the worst PMs were Gillard, Rudd or Turnbull. If you are on the left, it was Billy McMahon and Tony Abbott.

Well, I am a conservative and, looking back as far as Bob Menzies, I say that one of the best was Bob Hawke, and the worst by far is Scott Morrison, who stands for nothing. Yes. Worse than Gillard, Rudd, and Turnbull put together.

In our political system, we will only ever have a political hack, a professional politician as leader - unlike the U.S, where they can elect a non-politician who can have only two terms in office.

There is no point in talking about what Communist China is doing when we are ignoring what our own politicians, particularly our leader, are NOT doing.

At end of day, govts may make the easy decisions that accepts money from the CCP, money that will make the CCP richer and stronger.

Morrison, through his own indolence and our no longer fit-for-purpose political system, can't do anything about one of Australia's state's flirting with the Chinese Communist Party. He would have no show telling a foreign country (PNG) what to do, even if he had the courage (which he hasn't). The only course a decent leader would have would be to threaten to stop foreign aid - which would be immediately replaced by China.

No. As far PNG and other tinpot countries in the region go, it's a case of 'what will be will be', and Australia had better start spending more on defence and try to get more US troops stationed here.

As the Chinese tenders are politically designed there is no point
trying to compete with them. If you do tender a low price just to get
the job. their next tender will be lower still.
Obviously the CCP is subsidising their tenders and no inquires will ever get that admission.
The best tactic might be to plant a question in the PNG mind;
"Why are they underquoting ? What is their real objective ?"

Whilst I'm totally against foreign ownership of infrastructure in Australia, borrowing is actually vastly different from investing.
Borrowing is actually preferable as it can be paid off eventually whereas allowing a stand-over merchant to move in in is actually stupid !

That is what the Sri Lankans thought.
