George Pell, Dyson Heydon: the church and the law, both human institutions, subject to human failings

I think a possible cause of the George Pell problem was two faults in our judicial system:
A: Jury selection. As compared to America, here, juries are not screened. Apart from a juror's profession, we are not allowed to know anything about them. Thus anyone carrying psychological baggage about the victim or the accused just slips through the system.

B: Perjury is more or less never punished to a serious degree, just a suspended sentence or 55 hours community service. Thus anyone wanting revenge for a real or imagined harm from the accused or someone like him can tell all manner of porkies with little deterrent because of the minimum punishment if found out.

A court of appeal found in favour of the Jury's conclusions pertaining to Pell.

That said, this matter and many others could be proven or overturned conclusively by the still resisted, unbeatable, covert, space age lie detection.

What would happen to evidence able to be interrogated by this new unbeatable space age technology? We wouldn't have to suffer days and weeks of expensive hearings!

We'd be able to replace expensive silks with reasonably intelligent joe average? Judges, juries and witness could sit behind terminals remote from the alleged offender. Who could not remain silent! But compelled by new laws to speak, confirm or deny allegations of wrong doing!

Let the irrevocable, unimpeachable, undeniable, almighty truth have the final say! Not archaic precedent or justice for those who can afford it!

Pleading guilty could possibly lighten the sentence? And save the taxpayer thousands?

With those refusing to be interrogated in the proscribed manner automatically accorded a guilty sentance and at each parole board?
