I certainly agree, it's a hoot that Bunnings are the new moralists.

I simple make three observations (a) from 40 years personal hiking through multiple forests and coupes, I have no confidence in Vic or NSW Forests (b) it is crazy for us to keep on logging swift parrot or Leadbeater's habitat (c) plantation forests are way more productive, and can meet most of our needs.

It would be interesting to compare the amount of native timber, that is destroyed annually in bushfires, with the amount harvested for timber.

It is amazing the number of native timber sawmills that have been shut down due to restrictions on logging. Australia has some amazing native hardwoods but it is getting increasingly difficult to source them unless you own a farm. The green lobby seemingly prefers to see our timber resources destroyed in bushfires than to have them sustainably harvested.

More corporate virtue signalling. Big business is the last sector that could be regarded as sincere.

Sadly, the ministers responsible for state forests capitulate to the green lobby and go out of their way to suppress hazard reduction burns, thus ensuring that bushfire severity is such as to destroy flora, fauna and property.
