By Binoy Kampmark, published 2/7/2020

Expecting Facebook to monitor hate speech and disinformation is not only expecting much, but expecting something dangerous.

Yes, i agree with this article.

I actually like Facebook; it provides links to many useful articles/sites I choose to follow

As it has been said before; they can't handle the truth !
Personally, facebook is way too clattered for my taste with all the auto links & contacts & friends etc & if I want to tell or show something to someone I email it.
Facebook should have a system where people can report such material & suspend the account for one year. I mean if they can bombard us with all sorts of links etc then one more link shouldn't pose any problems. This could be done by limiting posts as is done on OLO.
Hate speech is generally pushed by those who rally against hate speech. Why, because that's what stupidity does to Sheeple ! Racists complain Racism too !

The problem with boycotting advertising is when your opposition doesn't.

Most of the muppets that boycotted Alan Jones came back after they started to lose market share.

I don't have anything to do with Facebook, but there is usually a ruckus going on about something: this time 'hate speech' and a bunch of virtue-signalling corporations chuntering on about withdrawing advertising, so I know it exists in weirdo land.

I don't know what is being designated 'hate speech', but I suspect it is what the Left calls any opinions not their own.

I agree with Chris and think it is better to let these ratbags spew their verbal vomit. So as to know who and where they are?

Then when we can, on any justifiable excuse, put them where they belong! On Devil's Island, minus any electricity or connectivity. Or its escape-proof equivalent!

We may have to share the planet with these despicable creatures, but none of the accruements of civilisation!
