By Graham Young, published 15/5/2020

Queensland’s parliamentary majority stands on a very jagged knife’s edge. Out of 93 seats the ruling ALP holds 48.

A very good analysis of the State of Queensland 2020 election prospects.
However, no mention was made of the likely impact of the status gained by the Premier through the Coronavirus, except for the byelection in Currumbin, which could extend to the travel restrictions on North Queenslanders, which seem unfair to people in the tropics. Against that negative, it appears that most Queenslanders are quite satisfied that the Premier has done a good job at satisfying the concerns of all Queenslanders through a very stressful time, and will be judged well and fairly. Lastly, the swift sacking/departure of Jackie Trad relieves the pressure on the Government- a very astute move by the Premier. On that basis, the odds should favour Labor to retain government on 31 October.

one wonders how much longer the anti coal anti mining ideologues can keep going with tens of thousands of new public servants since Palaszczuk took over. No wonder they treat gender bending in schools instead of basic maths.

Seriously - Jackie Trad "forgets" she has purchased a home?

Then we have the question of "principal" selection to a new school - alleged.

It takes 8 years for Adani Mine to be approved.

Seriously - This is NOT Australia. Australians are totally OVER the double standards including the increase of the Public Service to over 2,000 - Why and what function were they required for?

Serious auditing of all Government expense is required as a matter of urgency.

Taxpayers are most prepared to pay required tax, however taxpayers expect their taxes to be spent on projects to support Qld growth and prosperity.

This Government needs to go, if not governing in the interest of Qld citizens growth and prosperity.

Qld doesn't need a "woke" Government to destroy their economy.

While it is always warming to here similar tales of woe from other States, I with millions of others must suffer the endless rorting of ALP and Liberals in NSW, who are politicians FIRST, Mates of donors SECOND and finally only give lip service to constituents when they want our votes! Queensland antics over ADANI, Virgin and that soap opera "Everybody loves Trad" are bemusing, but what I kind moost confusing is that despite the lack of the barriers of an upper house, the current Labour government still can't operate their agenda, assuming they have one!

What is it, something in the water, XXXX contamination, or just too much sunshine?

sadly Alison its called the swamp. It is not just the lying liberal democrats in America. There are a few good men and women but they seem hamstrung by globalist, gw fraudsters, the UN and China. For all our legislation our morality and corruption is at record levels.

I find the Queensland Labor government's urge to own an airline a little frightening. That's more the style of the Chinese Communist Party.

Well, we did have AIR QUEENSLAND many years ago. I don't know how it was brought down, perhaps some Union people could enlighten us ?
I travelled a fair bit on the F27's & Dash 8's. A great outfit, wish they could bring it back again !

Glad you liked them, and the aircraft are good regional assets... but they must pay their way, not be subsidised by others, unless that is explicitly declared and pointed out to the electorate with costs at election time... simple transparency... something missing form current Qland it would seem.

Who gives a shite Graham?

Given it will be the business as usual politics, allegations and mudslinging. Selling the joint down the river?

Just never ever the contest of worthwhile ideas or needed as never before, bipartisan pragmatism/putting the state and the country, first and foremost!

So just get on with the business as usual BS and organise a postal vote, so we can just get it done!

QLD - time to open the borders - and get Australia up and running.

Premier states she relies on "medial advice" - medical advice states it's clear to open the borders.

Or does she have a "hidden political agenda"?
