Alan, Roosevelt was a Democrat, Roosevelt seized all US gold and then increased the price thereby devaluing the dollar by thirty per cent. The unemployment rate in 1939 was worse than 1929 and with no sign of anything improving. Then Japan attacked Pearl Harbour and the US re-armed, went to war and won the war ensuring they got most of the spoils. Check out Penecilin, patent and the US drug industry as an example.
I am totally in favour of nuclear power but think your lefty mates will never allow it. All that wasted magic money was tried in the 1930's by Roosevelt and it did not work obviously! Fast rail you say well Good luck but you have as much to do with getting it as I have in stopping it. I think shipping would be the go rather than rail but our antiquated cabotage restrictions will stop that. I expect our betters have a plan to use our useless money to fire things up, enrich themselves and impoverish us, cannot wait lol!
The Chinese Communist are literally aristocrats running everything, they hive stuff off to their mates and have done a good job of getting some wealth to the lower strata, which is everyone else of course.

To JBowyer.

Communism has a lot obsticles in it that we've seen over an over again throughout history as it's being tried. Right now China's communism has a powerful grip of control on the population with a few things like the civilian point system that watches the population and punishes those who are low on one standard or another. For the religions that don't line up with China's state sanctioned messages, those religions are persecuted. Might not seem like much unless you're in that group of believers that need to go to an underground church and worry when the officials come in to arrest the home church or home based religous gathering (of whatever religion).

If religion is an example that some people don't care about, then instead look at the political example of the protests in Hong Kong, and the causes of that mistreatment that went underway.
