By Mark Buckley, published 21/4/2020

In a global pandemic we have, along with our cousins across the Tasman, apparently slowed the progress of the virus. It is not empty patriotism to be proud of our achievement.

Dear Joe (Loudmouth),

For further entertainment in lock-down, here's a gift
that keeps on giving:

I can only broadly agree with the Author.

Morrison was having a shocker to start with. Allowing 15,000 person event at Hillsong to proceed and to announce he was off the the footy after telling us all how important it was that we all did our bit was pure spin.

He was being left for dead by state leaders, particularly Andrews and seemed to be playing catchup constantly.

Then there was one particular press confrence where he just seemed to leave the ideology at the door and really start addressing the enormity of what he was facing. It was the first time I felt we were going to be alright. The treasurer was suddenly using terms like doing it the Australian way when talking about everyone receiving equal amounts of subsidy payments. It was a deep dive into a socialist mindset which I could only applaud.

Yes there will be many critics of the both of them in years to come as there was toward Rudd and Swann, particularly from the hard right, but they can all go and get stuffed.

This had been the making of the man and while there is a chance he might revert to Scotty for Marketing right now he is hitting all the right notes. The ultimate test is whether he will be able to resist the calls to ease restrictions early, particularly as we have a looming flu season to contend with.

I hope he does stay the course.

'He was being left for dead by state leaders'

Yeah Steelie like your friend Anna who flew to Townsville to open a new packed stadium. But as usually very loose with the facts.

individual, you are a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, eaten by an anomaly.
I presume you are accusing me of being a welfare recipient, forever grateful to S.Morrison, for giving me money, in this time of plague?
Is butter a metaphor for money? We must pursue this matter, as you clearly cannot see the wood for the trees (another metaphor), as I continue to be baffled.
