Infectious diseases are another unrecognised cost of high population : Comments

By Eric Claus, published 26/3/2020

Sydney is crowded and congested, but our political leaders have us headed in the direction of Wuhan. Imagine a city 17 times as crowded and congested as Sydney and you've got the starting place for a pandemic.

Even now, the Big Australia cartel is agreed, there is to be no discussion of migration or population. That includes all three parties, commonwealth and states, industry and developers, big cities, academics, mainstream press, unions and churches.

COAG of 20 March re-endorsed Big Australia policy, nothing to see here. We would usually get updates to the Treasury migration targets in the May Budget, but that's been deferred for six months. The flights are stopped, but there is zero information as to how Home Affairs is handling visa processing, offshore or onshore.

Through all this, governments can be serenely confident, nobody in the cartel will ask any awkward questions. Gotta love democracy.

I watched "The Mediteranean from the Air" today, simply frightening ! Cities more tightly packed than tinned sardines.
Why don't these people stop breeding ? Do they really think that by out-breeding they can make the World a better place ?
Don't they realise they're just breeding themselves into oblivion ? They're literally inviting COVID-19 especially in the cooler northern regions ?

Thanks Divergence.
"Privatise the profits and socialise the costs," could be the BCA's catchcry. Maybe a thoughtful CEO or two will break away. I can dream.
